Victoria Terrace

This was a space that needed to work hard but feel effortless—an office-meets-lounge layout that could balance productivity with comfort. The goal? A creative space that felt warm, lived-in, and layered, without sacrificing practicality.

The Office Process

The first step was reworking the floor plan to carve out space for both a dual desk setup and a lounging nook. Once the layout felt right, I moved on to the details that make a space feel personal.

I gave my desk a fresh coat of paint to tie it into the overall colour scheme, then sourced a shelf from Marketplace and painted it the perfect baby blue. One of my favourite finds was a vintage gold mirror from TK Maxx—it adds instant charm and a hint of glam. (You can find more of this process over on Instagram @styledbycasey__).

Each change was simple but considered, building a space that feels calm and cohesive—perfect for working, lounging, or just enjoying the still moments.

The Lounge Styling

The lounge already had great bones—it just needed styling to make it feel more grounded and complete. The rug was the first piece to go; it was too small for the space. We replaced it with a 4x3m terracotta-toned, machine-washable rug that brought both warmth and scale to the room.

From there, we brought in a glass coffee table to add contrast and lightness, then layered the sofa with throws and cushions that followed our chosen palette—soft blush, muted blue, and warm earthy tones. To bring even more personality to the space, we began curating a gallery wall, which is still a work in progress (as all the best ones are).

This transformation was all about thoughtful layering, subtle colour play, and combining old with new to create a space that feels both practical and personal.

Stay tuned on Instagram to watch how this space continues to evolve—there’s always more to come.
